CHURCH MISSION EFFORTS (LOCAL & ABROAD)
East Ridge is known for heavy involvement in mission work, both in our community and abroad. Browse below to see what mission efforts we are carrying out, and consider how you might get involved in sharing the gospel.
Benevolence Room
Every week, several of our members volunteer many hours in service to our community. Thanks to their ongoing effort, we are able to offer one of the most respected benevolence programs in the Chattanooga area. Stocked with food, clothing, and household items, our Benevolence Room is open Tuesdays from 8am-2pm to share the love of Christ with those in need. Donations of clean clothing and non-perishable foods can be brought to the Benevolence Room during regular office hours. Benevolence Room Phone: 423.899.8498
Our congregation is known for placing a heavy emphasis on mission work and evangelism. Many of our members travel abroad each year on mission campaigns to Central America (Panama and Nicaragua), Russia, and Africa. We also financially support missionaries and church leaders in these areas. Of course, we also believe mission work needs to be done at home. Stateside missions including door-to-door evangelism, gospel meetings and Vacation Bible Schools supplement our local efforts to help the needy (see left) and teach the lost (see below).
Card Ministry
Everyone in our church family is encouraged to participate! Each Sunday, a Card Team meets one hour before the evening service in Classroom #6 to write cards to those in need of encouragement. Cards and envelopes are provided. Our aim is to reach those around us with the love of Christ! For more details about how to get involved, or to add someone to our mailing list, click here.
Teaching Programs
We sponsor and assist several organized efforts to teach the gospel both locally and abroad. A number of our members are dedicated to reaching the lost through World Bible School. We also offer Bible Correspondence Courses by mail. We support several television and radio programs which are broadcast across our community and beyond. We also support and assist the local Chattanooga Area Outreach Ministry.
